Those Times of Waiting
In May of 2007 we left our home in Dnipropetrovs'k, Ukraine. We were not sure of what the future held, including where we would settle down. God very graciously and generously provided for our family during our period of waiting and seeking His will for our next move.
On December 31st, 2009, we moved into our new home located in L'viv, Ukraine.Scripture tells us that God provides for His children. He has always provided so faithfully for all our needs. His provision has not always looked like what we wanted and His timing has not always fit into our timetable, but His provision has always been exactly what we needed and never late! Our new home is so much more than we ever expected or even asked for. Thank you all for your prayers!!

If you would like to call us you can do so in one of two ways. We have a computer phone (a Magic Jack) which provides us with an Indiana phone number. People in America can call this number and it is not an international call. If you live inside the 317 area it is a free call, and if you live outside the 317 area code, you only pay a long distance charge to the 317 area code. That number is: 317-683-3517. If you would like to call my cell phone from America, that number is: 011-380-98-056-0726. That is my local cell number and is an international call from the states.
Together For The Holidays
One concern Michelle and I have often shared was how our call and life as missionaries would affect our family gathering for holidays and special occasions. Our daughter, Nicole, lives in Indianapolis. Our son, Aaron, his wife, Sara, and their daughter, Emily, live in Turku, Finland. In spite of the miles that have separated us, God continues to provide for us to get together for those holidays and special occasions. This year is no exception. Nicole arrived in L'viv three weeks ago. Aaron, Sara, and Emmy arrived on January 7th. We have had a very nice holiday celebration together! The kids will be leaving on 16th of January. It has been a wonderful time together, but it is going by much too quickly!
Ministry Update
When we arrived in L'viv three months ago I was invited by Pastor Mark Blessing, senior pastor of Living Word, to fill the pulpit while he and his wife, Rhonda visited their daughters in America. It was such a blessing (no pun intended) to serve for Mark and to get to know the people in the church. The people welcomed us with open arms and hearts filled with love. Upon their return, Mark has asked me to pray about getting involved in the church to help train and disciple leadership in the church. I am praying about that as a possibility.
We have also discussed how Living Word might help us with a new church plant. I have been praying about starting a home bible study; our new home is perfect for that! In addition, I am praying about the needs that all the Calvary Chapels in Ukraine have for further training and equipping pastors and leaders to help strengthen existing churches and to start new ones. Opportunities abound here in Ukraine and the doors are wide open.
Would you join us in asking God to send workers into this harvest field?
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matt. 9:38
Prayer Requests
- For God to show us where He would have us to focus our efforts in ministry.
- For help in learning the Ukrainian language. (We will begin soon)
- We are looking for a good used van for ministry and personal use.
- For continued adjustment to life in L'viv. (Particularly for the kids.)
Thank you all for your prayers, phone calls, Christmas cards, letters, and emails. You are a huge blessing and encouragement!
With love from Ukraine,
Mike and Michelle
