My name is Randy Lucero and I have the privilege of Pastoring the most wonderful and loving Body of Believers called Calvary Chapel of Greer.

I was born and raised in Albuquerque NM, in a loving home where my Mother taught me a great reverence for God. I was raised in the Catholic Church and around the age of 11 I began to long for a deeper understanding of God while at the same time I was dabbling in the party life. A neighbor lady invited me to the Youth Group at First Baptist Church where the Youth Pastor taught from the Bible and shared the good news of forgiveness through Jesus. That night I received Jesus as my Savior, and for the next few years I tried to walk close to the Lord. During this time the Lord revealed to me that He had called me to serve Him in Pastoral ministry, but with no real discipleship I fell away from Him and went back to the party life.

At the beginning of my Senior Year in High School I began dating Keli, who became my wife in 1987. God blessed us with Amanda that same year! After a few rough years of marriage our lives were on the wrong track to say the least. On Easter Sunday 1989 we attended a Church Service where Keli gave her life to the Lord and I rededicated my life to the Lord. God began to heal and restore our marriage, and then He blessed us with Kathryn. Soon He reminded me of the call He had for me.

The Church we were attending did not focus on teaching the Bible, but we started listening to Pastor Gary Cowan and other Calvary Chapel Pastors on the radio and fell in love with the verse-by-verse style of Bible teaching. We started attending what is now Calvary Chapel East in Albuquerque where Pastor Gary Cowan took us under his wing and helped us grow in the Lord and prepare for the call to ministry. For the next 6+ years I served as Youth Pastor while making my living as a service technician in a Toyota dealership. In 1998 I was invited to join the staff of Calvary Chapel where I continued to serve as Youth Pastor and Bible teacher at Calvary Christian Academy. In 2003 Pastor Gary asked me to serve as Assistant Pastor, Worship Leader, Young Adult Ministry Leader, and Principle of Calvary Christian Academy, which I did until June of 2006 when the Lord called us and a group of faithful and dedicated friends to Greer, SC to start Calvary Chapel of Greer.
